Psalm 119 d

Leader: When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes.

People: Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works.

Leader: Put false ways far from me; and graciously teach me your law.

People: I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your ordinances before me.

Leader: I cling to your decrees, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.

People: I run the way of your commandments, for you enlarge my understanding.

Dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on this Christmas Eve we want to express our special thanks to You for coming to live with us as a human being. Thank You for putting aside Your kingly and heavenly glory to experience how we live and encourage us with Your divine and holy presence. We pray today that You will continue to be God with us even as You rule from Your throne in glory. Help us to acknowledge before others Your lordship of the universe, and help us also to submit to Your rule over our hearts. We open our lives to You today and everyday so Your Truth and Spirit will direct our steps and all our ways. Amen.
