Psalm 119 f

Leader: I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life.

People: Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise.

Leader: I will keep your law continually, forever and ever.

People: I shall walk at liberty, for I have sought your precepts.

Leader: I will also speak of your decrees before kings, and shall not be put to shame; I find my delight in your commandments, because I love them.

People: I revere your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.

Heavenly Father, on this first Sunday in a New Year, we look forward with eager and expectant hearts to the plans and purposes You have in store for us. As we move into the future, we trust fully in Your love, guidance, and provision. When we feel tempted to worry about uncertainties, remind us of the many promises in Your word, that we might be encouraged to trust even more completely in Your tender mercies. Today, we also pray for those who do not know You and Your Son, our Lord and Savior, and we ask that You would help us reach out to them with the Good News of Salvation. For the love and glory of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
