Psalm 119 r

Leader: Those who persecute me with evil purpose draw near; they are far from your law.

People: Yet you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true. Long ago I learned from your decrees that you have established them forever.

Leader: Look on my misery and rescue me, for I do not forget your law.

People: Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise.

Leader: Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.

People: Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your justice.

Leader: Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, yet I do not swerve from your decrees.

People: Consider how I love your precepts; preserve my life according to your steadfast love. Your word is truth. Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.

Heavenly Father, Grant us the assurance of Your saving presence and power when we face those who would tempt us to turn from righteousness. Grant us a true understanding of Your word. We trust in Your word and daily guidance as we pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.
