A Psalm and A Prayer
Psalm 126, 127 & 128

L.G. Parkhurst, Jr.
Teaching the Truth in Love

Psalm 126, 127 & 128

Leader: May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy.

People: Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.

Leader: Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.

People: Unless the LORD guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain.

Leader: It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved.

People: Happy is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways. You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and it shall go well with you.

Heavenly Father, many times we weep in sorrow and weep with those who weep. As we turn our thoughts to You and Your promises, turn our sorrow into joy. When we work hard to meet the needs of our families, others and ourselves, please give us good success and rejoicing in the fruit of our labors. We pray that you would build and guard our homes as we pray and trust in You. Fill us with your Spirit so we will walk in Your ways. Teach us to pray in faith as Jesus Christ taught us to pray, “Our Father. . .”
