Psalm 16b

Leader: I bless the Lord who gives me counsel. In the night also, my heart instructs me.

People: I keep the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Leader: Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices. My body also rests secure. For you do not give me up to Sheol, or let your faithful one see the Pit.

People: You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy. In your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Heavenly Father, You give us counsel and guidance through Your Holy Word. You give us Your Holy Spirit to help us understand Your ways and words for today. You give us power to do those things You want us to do, but we feel powerless to do in our own strength. If we fail You and others, You have made provision for our forgiveness, healing, and the restoration of our fellowship with You, through faith in Jesus Christ and repentance. For all these wonderful blessings and the many other gifts You bestow upon us, we give You praise and thanks! Always inspire us to pray with hearts of joy the prayer that Jesus taught us: “Our Father. . .”
