Psalm 17

Leader: I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God. Incline your ear to me, hear my words.

People: Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge at your right hand.

Leader: Guard me as the apple of your eye. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.

People: I shall behold your face in righteousness. When I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.

Heavenly Father, as our loving Father, You always incline Your ear and Your heart toward us. You enjoy hearing our words of appreciation, our prayers of intercession, and our deepest expressions of heartfelt needs, because we belong to Your family as needy children. You respond to our sighs, those concerns that we cannot express in words, and You give us comfort and grace. Your love for us is not as a fleeting moment in time, but a constant commitment to keep all of Your promises to us. Your love gives us the assurance of Your protection. We trust in You as our Defender and Savior. We do not come to You with the arrogance that self-righteousness can inspire, but with full faith in Jesus Christ, the Righteous Savior, Who taught us to pray: “Our Father. . .”
