Psalm 18a

Leader: I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

People: I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, so I shall be saved from my enemies.

Leader: In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.

People: For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

Heavenly Father, You revealed Yourself to us as our strength, our rock, our fortress, our deliverer, our shield, our source of strength for salvation, our stronghold. We love You for Who You are and for all You mean to us. We owe our lives to You and Your tender mercies. Indeed, You are worthy of our praise and our spending time with You. Help us become more like You in all Your ways, that we might be guided and empowered by Your Holy Spirit to help those in distress. Help us to pray for one another and all those in need when we pray as Jesus taught us: “Our Father. . .”
