Psalm 18b

Leader: O Lord, with the loyal you show yourself loyal. With the blameless you show yourself blameless. With the pure you show yourself pure. With the crooked you show yourself astute.

People: For you deliver a humble people, but those with haughty eyes you bring down.

Leader: You light my lamp. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.

People: By you I can crush a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.

Unison: The LORD is our God — his way is perfect. The promise of the Lord proves true. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

Heavenly Father, You have called us to be loyal to You and to all those who trust in Your Holy Name. Indeed, You manifest Your loyalty to us and to all who walk in Your ways. Help us to demonstrate Your character to all those around us as we seek to live pure and blameless in the power of Your Holy Spirit. Continue to light our paths and go before us that we might know You as our shield and defender, our help in times of trouble. We pray that You would help us lead others to trust in You. And now, we pray using the words Jesus taught us: “Our Father. . .”
