Psalm 24 b

Leader: Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors! That the King of glory may come in.

People: Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle.

Leader: Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors! That the King of glory may come in.

People: Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

O God, You are the King of glory. We welcome Your presence with us in our service of worship. We open our minds, and invite You to share Your words of truth with us. Give us a right understanding of the holy scriptures, as we study the Bible today. We open our hearts, and invite You to guide and direct our steps in accordance with Your word. We pray that You would join us, and that we might join You, in the many battles we face, both physical and spiritual. We know You are strong and mighty in battle, and we cannot defeat our foes apart from You. Help us trust more in You and Your promises each day that we might remain Your good and faithful servants. And now we pray in the name of the coming King of glory, even our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: “Our Father. . .”
