Psalm 3

Leader: Many are saying, “There is no help for you in God.” But you, O LORD, are a shield around us, our glory. You are the one who lifts up our heads.

People: I cry aloud to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy hill. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the LORD sustains me.

Leader: I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. Rise up, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God!

People: Deliverance belongs to the LORD. May your blessing be on your people!

Heavenly Father, too many people do not know that You love us; that You look for ways to lift us up and help us. Lord, the assurance of Your presence inspires our loyalty and faithful service to You, no matter the odds against us. Shield us from evil and direct our paths. Lift up our heads and give us reasons for rejoicing. Encourage us with Your word of truth and give us wisdom. We pray for all those in harms way. We ask that You defend those striving to maintain a faithful witness to You wherever they may live. Lift up our hearts to You and fill us with Your Spirit as we pray the prayer Jesus taught us, “Our Father. . .”
