Psalm 31 b

Leader: I trust in you, O Lord. I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors.

People: Let your face shine upon your servants. Save us in your steadfast love. Do not let us be put to shame, O Lord, for we call on you.

Leader: Let the lying lips be stilled that speak insolently against the righteous with pride and contempt.

People: O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you in the sight of everyone!

Leader: In the shelter of your presence you hide them from human plots.

People: You hold them safe under your shelter from contentious tongues.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for rescuing us and sustaining us in times of trouble. Thank You for delivering us from our enemies, both physical and spiritual, within and without. We praise You, for Your steadfast love and goodness saves us from those who would destroy our witnessing for Jesus Christ. And now we pray, “Our Father. . .”
