Psalm 4

Leader: Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.

People: Know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for himself. The LORD hears when I call to him.

Leader: When you are disturbed, do not sin. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.

People: Let the light of your face shine on us, O LORD! You have put gladness in my heart! I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O LORD, make me lie down in safety.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your gracious love, shown to us most especially through Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. You show Your love for all people in many ways, and You set us apart to serve You and others with hopeful hearts. Forgive us for those times when we have failed to serve You and others. Help us to see and walk through the doors of opportunity to serve You and others with gladness in our hearts. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and help us minister to others with an integrity that manifests Your faithfulness, holiness, and mercy. With single-minded devotion, help us pray as Jesus taught us, “Our Father. . .”
