Psalm 40 b

Leader: Sacrifice and offering you do not desire, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

People: I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.

Leader: I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation. See, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord.

People: I have not hidden your saving help within my heart. I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.

Leader: Do not, O Lord, withhold your mercy from me.

People: Let your steadfast love and your faithfulness keep me safe forever

O God, You require of me what I can give, and everyday I choose to give You my heart, my mind, my soul, my life, my future. Heavenly Father, I love Your Word, and I rejoice in the opportunity to study the Holy Scriptures with Your people. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I can faithfully proclaim Your love and grace to all who will listen, even as we pray in Jesus’ name: “Our Father. . .”
