Psalm 43

Leader: Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people; from those who are deceitful and unjust deliver me!

People: I take refuge; why have you cast me off? Why must I walk about mournfully because of the oppression of the enemy?

Leader: O send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling.

People: Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.

Leader: Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me?

People: Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.

O God, You reign as sovereign Lord over all creation. Nothing escapes Your notice. You know when every sparrow falls to the ground. You know our every need even before we anticipate any problems. We face many enemies within and without. We face uncertainties of many kinds. We sometimes feel powerless to make a difference in our world and even in our own lives. We trust in You to send Your light and truth that we might pray with wisdom and find our help in You as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
