Psalm 48

Leader: Clap your hands, all you peoples. Shout to God with loud songs of joy.

People: His holy mountain, beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King.

Leader: We ponder your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple.

People: Your name, O God, like your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with victory. You will be our guide forever.

O God, You are worthy to receive our praise and adoration. As the one and only great King of the universe, You use Your power to bless Your people. Heavenly Father, we confess that we are unworthy to receive Your many blessings, but You extend Your grace toward us and offer us forgiveness. You show Your love for us through Jesus Christ, Your only Son. He came to earth that we might see and receive Your deep love for us, a sacrificial love that led Him to embrace the cross in our behalf. We pray that You will cleanse us from all unrighteousness and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live a life worthy of being called Your children, even as we pray in Jesus’ holy name: “Our Father. . .”
