Psalm 57

Leader: Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me. In you my soul takes refuge. In the shadow of your wings I will take refuge.

People: I cry to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. He will send from heaven and save me.

Leader: God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness.

People: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

Leader: My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and make melody to the LORD.

People: I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to you among the nations.

Leader: For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness extends to the clouds.

People: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

Almighty God, we praise You and give You thanks for your steadfast love and mercy. Help us understand the Scriptures that we might find encouragement daily from the truths You have revealed to those who have gone before us. Reveal Your purposes to us we might conform our lives to Your will. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we might exalt You in our worship, even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
