Psalms 60 & 61

Leader: O God, You have set up a banner for those who fear you.

People: Give victory with your right hand, and answer us, so those whom you love may be rescued.

Leader: God has promised in his sanctuary: “With exultation, Judah is my scepter. Moab is my washbasin; on Edom I hurl my shoe.”

People: O grant us help against the foe, for human help is worthless.

Leader: With God we shall do valiantly. He will tread down our foes.

People: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. You are my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.

Leader: Let me abide in your tent forever and find refuge under the shelter of your wings.

People: I will always sing praises to your name, as I pay my vows day after day.

Almighty God, our Fortress and Defender, we entrust our lives to You. We worship You this day and always, for You are worthy to be praised. Day by day, You show Yourself faithful to Your people. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so we can serve You with loving and loyal hearts. Forgive us for our sins and cleanse us by the blood of Jesus Christ, Who taught us to pray: “Our Father. . .”
