Psalms 68

Leader: Let God rise up. Let his enemies be scattered. But let the righteous be joyful. Let them exult before God and be jubilant.

People: Sing to God. Sing praises to his name. Lift up a song to him — his name is the Lord — be exultant before him!

Leader: Father of orphans and protector of widows, God is in his holy temple, and God gives the desolate a home.

People: O God, you showered rain in abundance. You restored your heritage when it languished.

Leader: The Lord gives the command. Great is the company of those who bore the tidings: “The kings of the armies, they flee, they flee!”

People: Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up and carries our burdens. Our God is a God of salvation. To God, the Lord, belongs escape from death.

Leader: Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth. Sing praises to the Lord.

People: Listen! God sends out his mighty voice. Ascribe power to God, whose majesty is over all. Awesome is God in his sanctuary. God gives power and strength to his people.

O God, as You scattered the enemies of Your people in the past, so we ask You to scatter Your enemies today and give victory to Your people. Protect and defend all who trust in You, even as we pray in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: “Our Father. . .”
