Psalm 6 & 7

Leader: Be gracious to me, O LORD. Turn, O LORD, save my life. Deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love.

People: Depart from me, all you workers of evil. The LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. The LORD has heard my supplication. The LORD accepts my prayer.

Leader: O LORD my God, in you I take refuge. Save me from all my pursuers and deliver me.

People: God is my shield, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge. I will give to the LORD the thanks due his righteousness, and sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.

Heavenly Father, You save us from those who would afflict us and mislead us. You deliver us from evil for Your Name’s sake. You provide the way of escape when we feel tempted. Father, Your steadfast love guides and directs our steps in the way of righteousness and peace. You hear our prayers when we rise in the morning and when we lay down our heads at night. We take refuge in You when the storms of life would otherwise overwhelm us. Cleanse us and fill us with Your Spirit. Help us understand the truth of Your word. Help us praise You with an upright heart as we pray the prayer Jesus taught us: “Our Father. . .”
