Psalm 95

Leader:  O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

People: Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Leader: For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

People: O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Leader: For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

People: O that today you would listen to his voice! Do not harden your hearts.

Father God, we gather together to thank You for the gift of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He demonstrated Your great love for us by dying on the cross in our behalf, and He has promised to cleanse us from our sins when we confess them to You and repent of them. Pour out Your grace within us, and empower us to live in ways that will bring You and others great joy, especially as we seek to serve as vessels overflowing with Your unmerited love. Guide us in our study of the Scriptures. Shine the light of Your Holy Spirit into our minds and hearts, and encourage us to conform our lives to Your perfect will as we follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who taught us to pray: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
