Psalm 99

Leader:  The Lord is king. Let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim. Let the earth quake!

People: The Lord is great in Zion. He is exalted over all people and all nations.

Leader: Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he!

People: Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity. You have executed justice and righteousness.

Leader: Extol the Lord our God. Worship at his footstool. Holy is he!

People: Extol the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.

Father in heaven, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. On the first Palm Sunday, He declared that He was the long expected Messiah. But by the end of the week, the crowds who adored Him called for His crucifixion. However, You raised Him from the dead, and You proved that He did all things well according to Your will. Father, we adore You and love You for the great sacrifice You and Your Son made in our behalf, that You could extend mercy to us justly. Fill us now with Your Holy Spirit that we might be guided and empowered to live holy for You. And now we pray together as Jesus taught us to pray: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
