Teaching the Truth in Love

Some people pray through the Bible as they read, a practice of Edith Schaeffer (the wife of Francis Schaeffer: who did not pray in this manner). Teachers may want to try this way of praying and teach this way to their students as another way to pray. You may want to learn how this type of praying is done and then begin praying privately through the weekly International Bible StudyText as you study or during your devotional or quiet time. You may want to pray through the International Bible study Test at the close of each class as you teach your students about prayer as well as the Bible. At some point, you may ask your students to write down and share some of their prayers with the class. To learn more about prayer, read How God Teaches Us to Prayer: Lessons from the Lives of Francis and Edith Schaeffer, by L.G. Parkhurst, Jr.
