Praying for Recovery for you and for others

In Serenity Groups, participants also reach out to God in prayer for one another and their loved ones. Because of the power of prayer, Serenity Groups have proven to be a hope-filled supplement for people in other recovery groups and a benefit to those with many years of recovery behind them. The New Serenity Prayer Edition of Prayer Steps to Serenity the Twelve Steps Journey can help the person who has never prayed before or who wants to deepen their prayer life learn how to keep in cotinuous and conscious contact with God using their own words as well as the Serenity Prayer. Serenity Groups help those in any recovery program (such as AA, Al-Anon, CoDA, EA, or OA) discover the spiritual and scriptural foundations of the 12 Steps. Each Serenity Group can discuss how truths from the Bible are the foundation of each of the 12 Steps and how Bible study and prayer (along with the fellowship and prayers of others) can help people recover more quickly with God's help. Serenity Group meetings can open up discussion of God and the Bible with people in new, nonthreatening, and practical ways. While working all the 12 Steps, the 11th Step gives us this encouragement when we are ready: "Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and for the power to carry that out."  Learn more!
