Psalm 105

Leader:  O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.

People: Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful works.

Leader: Glory in his holy name. Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

People: Seek the Lord and his strength. Seek his presence continually.

Leader:  Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles and the judgments he has uttered.

People: He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

Father God, on this special Mother’s Day, we thank You for our mothers. We thank you for their sacrifices in our behalf. We pray for Your blessing to be upon each mother today, and we ask that You would give them the guidance, wisdom, and strength to care for their children and direct them in the ways that they should go. We pray that You would bless all of us in our worship service this morning, and teach us more of You and Your ways through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who taught us to pray, “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
