Psalm 107

Leader:  O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.

People: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those he redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands.

Leader: Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to an inhabited town; hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them.

People: Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

Leader:  Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love and for his wonderful works. He satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things.

People: Let those who are wise give heed to these things, and consider the steadfast love of the Lord!

Heavenly Father, Your steadfast love endures forever. We have seen Your love expressed in the lives of Your chosen people in the Scriptures. And we have experienced Your steadfast love in our very own lives. Even though they sinned, when they repented, You saved them from distress. Likewise, Father, we remember how You have forgiven us when we have returned to You in faith, repentance, and obedience. Help us share the good news of Your salvation with others, and hear us as we pray in Jesus’ holy name: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
