Psalm 112

Leader: Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord, who greatly delight in his commandments.

People: Their descendants will be mighty in the land. The generation of the upright will be blessed.

Leader: Their righteousness endures forever. They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright. They are gracious, merciful, and righteous.

People: It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.

Leader:  The righteous will never be moved. They will be remembered forever. They are not afraid of evil tidings. Their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.

People: Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid. In the end they will look in triumph on their foes.

Lord Jesus, we delight in all of Your commandments. We love You with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. We love Your Father, our Heavenly Father, and we thank Him for sending You into the world to save us from our sins. We love the Holy Spirit, Who helps us understand the way that we should go as we study the Scriptures. Help us to love our neighbors and even our enemies, as You have commanded. Help us to love one another, as You have loved us. Now hear our prayers as You taught us to pray: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
