Psalm 119 g

Leader: Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope.

People: This is my comfort in my distress, that your promise gives me life.

Leader: When I think of your ordinances from of old, I take comfort, O LORD.

People: Your statutes have been my songs wherever I make my home.

Leader: I remember your name in the night, O LORD, and keep your law.

People: This blessing has fallen to me, for I have kept your precepts.

Heavenly Father, You have given us many precious promises in the Bible. Help us to remember these promises and give us the faith we need to trust more in You and in Your word. We praise You today for the many times when You have given us comfort in our distress. We remember these times with thanksgiving and You increase our faith. Father, we pray that Your word and Your holy law of love might become a song in our hearts that we might love You more. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
