Psalm 119 h

Leader: The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words.

People: I implore your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

Leader: When I think of your ways, I turn my feet to your decrees.

People: I hurry and do not delay to keep your commandments.

Leader: At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous ordinances.

People: I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts. The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes.

Heavenly Father, You have kept all of Your promises to me in the first coming of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Today, with Your help, I promise to follow Him as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Spirit and enable me to understand and keep Your words and ways as revealed in the Scriptures. Open my mind to understand better the world around me in the light of Your word, even as I look forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ, in Whose Name I pray. Amen.

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
