Psalm 119 s

Leader: We rejoice at your word like those who find great riches.

People: We hate and abhor falsehood, but we love your law.

Leader: Seven times a day we praise you for your righteous ordinances.

People: Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Leader: We hope for your salvation, O LORD, and we fulfill your commandments.

People: Our hearts keep your decrees; we love them exceedingly.

Leader: We keep your precepts and decrees, for all our ways are before you.

People: Let our cry come before you, O LORD; give us understanding according to your word.

Heavenly Father, we love You and we love Your word. Your word gives us unfailing guidance on how to live in this world. Your word gives us comfort and consolation when we feel oppressed by sickness and by those who would cause us to stumble. Give us greater understanding, and bestow on us the wisdom that surpasses knowledge. Give us courage and the strength to do what is right according to all Your teachings. Fill us with the love, power, and peace of your Son as we pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
