Psalm 135

Leader: Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD, you that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.

People: Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good. Sing to his name, for he is gracious.

Leader: I know that the LORD is great. Our Lord is above all gods.

People: Whatever the LORD pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.

Leader: He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

People: Your name, O LORD, endures forever, your renown, O LORD, throughout all ages. For the LORD will vindicate his people, and have compassion on his servants.

O Father, You called our nation into being that we might freely worship and serve You. You gave us Your word, the Holy Scriptures, to teach us how to obey You in all ways as we share the good news of Jesus Christ with people and nations all around the globe. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and lead us to pray and work according to Your compassionate will as we pray, “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
