Psalm 145 a

Leader: I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.

People: Every day I will bless you, and praise your name forever and ever.

Leader: Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised. His greatness is unsearchable.

People: One generation shall laud your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.

Leader: On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.

People: The might of your awesome deeds shall be proclaimed, and I will declare your greatness.

Unison: They shall celebrate the fame of your abundant goodness, and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

Heavenly Father, Your glory and splendor is above our comprehension and ability to praise and honor rightly. Fill us with Your gracious presence. Give us a true sense of Your lovingkindness. With all our hearts, we seek to express our loyalty and thanksgiving to You. By Your indwelling Holy Spirit, enable us to worship You sincerely and pray as we ought to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Who taught us to pray, “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
