Psalm 45

Leader: Give ear to my words, O LORD; give heed to my sighing. Listen to the sound of my cry, my King and my God.

People: O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice. I plead my case to you and watch. You are not a God who delights in wickedness. Evil will not sojourn with you.

Leader: Through the abundance of your steadfast love I will enter your house. Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness. Make your way straight before me.

People: Let all who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, so that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover them with favor as with a shield.

Heavenly Father, sometimes we pray to You with sighs that words cannot express, but You understand our heart’s cry. We thank You for leading us with Your loving hand upon our lives. Lead us in the way of righteousness and peace. Protect us from our enemies and those who would try to draw us away from You and the narrow road upon which You would have us walk. Fill us with joy as we honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ today. Help us pray in the power of Your Spirit as Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father. . .”
