Psalm 83

Leader: O God, do not keep silence. Do not hold your peace or be still. Even now your enemies are in tumult. Those who hate you have raised their heads.

People: They lay crafty plans against your people. They consult together against those you protect.

Leader: Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever. Let them perish in disgrace.

People: Let them know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.

O God, we praise You as the only true God. Your promises never fail. You remain true to Your word from generation to generation. You never fail Your people and extend forgiveness to all who turn to You in repentance and faith. O Lord, when the heathen rage and those who despise Your holy name oppress Your people, we often feel as the Psalmist and cry out for justice. Hear our prayers, O Lord. Defend Your people! O God, we thank You for the transforming power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we pray that many will come to Him and turn from darkness into the light. May many find salvation in Jesus alone, and may we also be prepared when He comes again. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and give us confidence as we pray in Jesus’ Name: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
