Psalm 89

Leader:  I declare that your steadfast love is established forever. Your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.

People: Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones.

Leader: O Lord God of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds you.

People: The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it — you have founded them.

Leader: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.

People: The Lord has promised: “Once and for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. His line shall continue forever, and his throne endure before me like the sun."

O God, our Creator and Redeemer, we not only offer our praises to You this day, but our very selves as well. We come into Your presence with the humility befitting unworthy sinners that You have so graciously forgiven. We thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the One who makes new life possible to believers no matter what their past. Fill us now with Your Spirit that we might live wholly for You and serve Your people. Hear us we pray: “Our Father. . .”

Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

People: Worship the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Leader: Know that the Lord is God.

People: It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.

People: For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we praise You for giving us the assurance of life after death by the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the dead. We also praise Jesus today. Because of His faithful obedience to You, an obedience that perfectly fulfilled Your law, He became worthy to die in our place. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying on the cross so our sins could be justly forgiven. Father, we thank You for our faith in You and in Jesus; faith that You have inspired within our hearts by Your grace. Now, fill us once again with Your Holy Spirit, that we might live in a worthy manner and demonstrate Your love to others; fill us even as we pray: “Our Father. . .”
