Psalm 90
Leader: Lord, you have been our dwelling
place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you
had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
People: A thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is
past, or like a watch in the night. The days of our life are seventy years, or
perhaps eighty, if we are strong.
Leader: Teach us to count our days, so we may gain a wise heart.
People: Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so we may
rejoice and be glad all our days.
Leader: Let your work be manifest to your servants, and your glorious power to
their children.
People: Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us
the work of our hands
— O prosper the work of our hands!
Heavenly Father, as we begin a New Year, we rededicate our lives to serving You
and our blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Increase our devotion for You and
Your work in this place. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so we can bear fruit and
bless others. Prune us so we can bear even more and better fruit. Fill us and
prune us in the coming year, and even now as we pray in Jesus’ name: “Our
Father. . .”
