Welcome to this Bible study based on Luke 2:15-19, John 2:1-5, and John 19:25-27. This study follows Mary's faithfulness from Bethlehem, to Cana, to the cross, and centers on her memorable instruction to the servants: "Do whatever he tells you."

The printable Scripture text, Bible lesson, and discussion questions are available below for personal study, family devotions, Sunday school, or weekly Bible class use. Ranch Story Connection

The Second Sack of Flour

In The Second Sack of Flour, Hank has already learned the importance of confession and making things right. Now he faces new choices before trouble begins. He chooses to help a neighbor in need by delivering medicine, and he chooses the safest road home rather than a tempting shortcut. Like the servants at Cana, Hank does not fully know how his obedience will bless others. He simply chooses to do what is right.

The story reminds us that following Jesus is often shown through ordinary acts of faithful obedience. Sometimes obedience means helping someone in need. Sometimes it means following wise instructions when a shortcut seems easier. Either way, the faithful path is better than the careless one.

Ranch Reflection

Mary's words to the servants are among the shortest and wisest instructions in the Bible: "Do whatever he tells you." The servants did not know why Jesus told them to fill the water jars. They simply obeyed. Hank did not know everything that would happen when he chose to help Roy Mercer or when he avoided the shortcut home. He simply chose the faithful path.

God often works through ordinary people who quietly obey Him one decision at a time. Our greatest opportunities to honor Christ are often found in the ordinary choices we make each day.
